Look on the bright side
Looking on the bright side of a situation is not only good for your mental health, but also your physical health. The less we stress and worry excessively about certain situations, the less cortisol (stress hormone) we release, less cortisol will have a positive impact on your physical health in several ways, including strengthening your immune system.
They like exercising
This may come as a surprise to some people but most health people engage in an exercise which they enjoy. This means if you don’t like going to the gym, don’t go – if you don’t like running, don’t do it. It’s not a free pass not to exercise, find something you enjoy doing, there are many options. Even if a gentle stroll regularly is what you enjoy, this will be much more beneficial longer term to your overall health.
They prepare healthy meals ahead of time
Giving your body the proper nutrition is essential to having a healthy body. For us to have healthy food to hand, it’s important to prepare meals in advance. Getting home from work hungry with nothing to eat is going to lead you to eat the first thing that comes into your hand.
They make health a priority in their lives
As much as anything else, choosing to make time for regular healthy habits is vital. It takes an effort to make time to put a consistent healthy habit into your day, after time and practice these habits should take less effort.
They eat foods they know aren’t healthy (in moderation)
Healthy people will eat foods that they know are good for them most of the time. But they also enjoy some of the foods they love which they know aren’t good for them, and they’re ok with that. This doesn’t mean they eat ice cream every night, it means, that on occasion they enjoy an ice cream and don’t feel guilty about it.
They don’t believe in dieting
Diets are temporary and unsustainable, its everyday dietary habits that need to change and healthy people know this. Healthy people know that making regular good meal choices is key, rather than some crash or restrictive diet.
They surround themselves with other healthy people
Most healthy people will gravitate towards people who have similar beliefs. It’s a lot easier to reach your goals if those surrounding you have similar ambitions.
They don’t make excuses
Heathy people take responsible for their health choices. They know they control what food they eat, exercise they take and how they manage their stress levels.
They get plenty of sleep
Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night, those who don’t make time for 7/8 hours of sleep a night are more likely to spend more on health care and have accidents.
